The Scholarship program has been annually ever since 2008 and it’s designed to cater to funding of Ph.D. for Foreign Students from various continents; Africa, Asia, and other Countries to study in Canada. However, this year has witnessed a more resounding development as the number of recipients of the scholarships is expected to be 166.

The Government of Canada announced the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) program in 2008 to increase Canada’s opportunity to attract and retain world-class doctoral researchers and put Canada as a global center of excellence in research and higher learning. Vanier Scholars portrays leadership skills and an outstanding standard of scholarly achievement in graduate studies in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences, and/or engineering and health.

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) is named after Major-General Georges P. Vanier, the first francophone Governor General of Canada. The program is aimed to help Canadian institutions attract highly qualified doctoral students from within and outside the country.
